2010 Calendar of Events at Williams Wharf Landing

  • Daily - Sunrise to Sunset - The Mathews Land Conservancy would like to invite individuals with engineless watercraft such as kayaks, canoes, small sailboats, and rowing shells, to launch from Williams Wharf Landing and enjoy the beautiful East River! We also have dock fishing available (in permitted areas only) - be sure to bring your license. Groups of 16 or more, please call Lynda at 804-725-9685 to reserve the Wharf for your event.
  • April 3 - 8 a.m.-4 p.m. - Tidewater Regatta - $5 Parking fee - Mathews High School crew regatta open to the public; food available
  • April 17 - 8 a.m.-4 p.m. - Tidewater Regatta - $5 Parking fee - Mathews High School crew regatta open to the public; food available
  • May 1 - 8 a.m.-4 p.m. - 23rd Annual MHS Regatta - $5 parking fee - Mathews High School crew regatta open to the public; food available
  • May 15 - 9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Bike Virginia's Tour de Chesapeake - visit www.bikechesapeake.org for more information
  • June-August - Mobjack Rowing Association hosts summer rowing camps for all levels, novice to competitive - open to ages 12 and up - Contact Tim Ulsaker at 804-693-5160 for more information
  • June 25 - 6:30-9 p.m. - Summer Sunset Concert by Susan Greenbaum - $15/person - food available for purchase or bring your own picnic - cash bar available, no outside alcohol please - Contact Lynda Greve at 804-725-9685 or mclc@3bubbas.com for ticket information
  • June-August - Summer YMCA Sailing Camps - Details TBA
  • September 19 - Noon-4 p.m. - 4th Annual L. Wayne Hudgins Wharf to Wharf Swim - a 1400 meter open water swim across the East River from Williams Wharf to Hicks Wharf and back - swimmers must have $100 minimum sponsorships to swim - Contact Lynda Greve at 804-725-9685 or mclc@3bubbas.com or visit www.mathewslandconservancy.com
